The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Career Development Information Officer.
A Career Development Information Officer provides individuals and groups with information about career choices and access to career paths that will empower them to make informed career related decisions.
A qualified learner will be able to:
Provide career development information to individual clients that will assist them to make informed career development decisions
Provide career development information to groups that will assist them to make informed career development decisions
Maintain administrative and networking functions to ensure efficient and effective career development information services
The qualification is divided into parts in such a way that when taken in conjunction with related modules (e.g. Knowledge + Practical + Workplace Modules), learners can receive the Occupational Higher Certificate: Career development after completing the required knowledge, practical and workplace modules within 12 months or 18 months, depending on the individual occupational sector.
To be awarded this qualification, All Knowledge, Practical, and Workplace Modules must be completed and also pass an external integrated summative assessment (EISA).
